Hi! I'm Giovanna. Welcome! I'm glad you're here.
Why Solaris ("of the sun") : Therapy is often about shedding light on the patterns, thoughts, emotions and strengths that have been hidden in the shadows of our being. I chose this name for my practice because I wanted it to represent warmth and clarity.
I strive to help my clients illuminate their own path towards transformation and healing.
Finding Clarity through Compassionate Support
Solaris Psychotherapy
Support rooted in gentle exploration
I am here to help you work on anything you may need to move towards a more fulfilling life. I will walk alongside you, whether you're dealing with grief, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, trauma related suffering, or the complexity of life itself.
I'm dedicated to providing a safe, gentle space, where you can explore your inner self. I'd be honored to help you navigate life's challenges, with more clarity and compassion.
I like to say that my heart is scattered around the Americas... I am South American, born and raised in Brazil. I spent a significant portion of my young adulthood in Central America, in beautiful Nicaragua. I have lived many years in the US, and became a citizen in 2019. I also have ties with BC Canada, and love the whole Pacific Northwest, particularly Oregon.
Experiencing life in different cultures has enriched my worldview; it's made me more attuned to the nuances that make individuals so diverse. Perhaps most importantly, it has connected me to our shared humanity.
As far as my clinical approach to Counseling, I've been drawn towards Humanistic psychotherapy from the beginning of my training. I also borrow elements from other modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
